How the
Rating System Works

Every Heartopia home is rated across 7 categories, each scored from 1 to 10. The total score is the average of all categories, which determines your tier.

1

Exterior / Curb Appeal

How does the house look from the outside, before you even step in?

  • Wall design, window placement, symmetry
  • Roof design — varying heights, tile directions, overhangs
  • Entrance area and first impression
  • Overall silhouette and proportions
2

Interior Design

How well are the rooms furnished and decorated?

  • Furniture selection and placement
  • Room layout and flow — can you move through naturally?
  • Wall decor, lighting, small details
  • Color coordination within rooms (dye system usage?)
3

Outdoor / Landscaping

How is the area around the house designed?

  • Gardens, pathways, fences
  • Plants, trees, natural elements
  • Outdoor furniture and decorations
  • Animal enclosures, vivariums, bird spots (if applicable)
  • Vehicles as decor / garage setups
4

Creativity / Originality

How unique and surprising is the build?

  • Unexpected item usage — repurposing furniture in creative ways
  • Custom designs via the drawing board
  • Unconventional building approaches (e.g. multiple small structures instead of one big house)
  • "Wow factor" — does anything genuinely surprise me?
  • Does the build have its own identity or does it look like every other home?
5

Theme / Coherence

Does everything fit together or is it a random mix?

  • Consistent color scheme (2-3 main colors)
  • Consistent style throughout (not half modern, half cottage)
  • Do exterior and interior match each other?
  • Does the house tell a "story" or have a clear theme?
  • Furniture sets combined thoughtfully?
6

Detail Work / Polish

How much love went into the little things?

  • Are walls decorated or left bare?
  • Lighting at different heights and layers?
  • Small details you only notice on a second look
  • Clean placement — grid snapping, symmetry where needed
  • No obvious building mistakes (floating objects, gaps)
7

Space Usage / Ambition

How well is the available space used and how ambitious is the build?

  • Multi-story utilized?
  • Multiple plots connected / used?
  • Balance between full and empty — not overloaded, not barren
  • Size and complexity of the overall project
  • Advanced build mode techniques visible?

Each category is scored from 1 to 10 (half points allowed, e.g. 7.5).

⚠️ Disclaimer

All ratings on HATO CRIBS reflect my personal opinion only. They are not an objective measurement, and different people may evaluate the same home very differently — and that's perfectly fine.

The goal of this rating system is to celebrate creativity in Heartopia, highlight cool builds, and give builders constructive feedback — not to put anyone down. Every score is based on what I see at the time of the visit, using the categories above as a consistent framework.

If your score is lower than you expected, don't take it personally. Use the category breakdown to see where you can improve, and remember: building is about having fun. A number on a leaderboard doesn't define the value of your creativity.

Ratings may be updated if a home has significantly changed since the last visit.
